It seems I'm slowly working my way through Tepper's books, as I enjoy the explorations she makes of the intersections of gender, aggression, biology and culture. The Gate to Women's Country is about a post-apocalyptic society, one that has recovered from the convulsions that scorched the planet. The characters are engaging, and she generally avoids the easy answers; my friend Rachel's dreaded "Love is the Answer" coda is not to be found here.
