Realistically, I will never read this, but it is freaking hilarious, as an object.
This sentence, from the excerpt in the front cover, is my favorite sentence in the whole world, with my favorite punctuation:
Something about the way he stared at her . . . Suddenly it hit her: a lizard is going to make love to me, she thought, and then I'm going to be killed! [sic]
That you could write that with a straight face gives me chills. That you could then pull it out of hundreds of other sentences and use it as a teaser for the book makes me giddy. Also, the use of the word "ninjitzu expert" on a character called "Matt Jones" just fills me with delight.
Oh man, and the copy from the black cover:
All clues point to Tokyo, and Matt leads a strike force to rescue the grand masters, aided by Kenzo Sugihara, a sword master of dazzling gifts who saves the Americans' lives more than once.
Who is this man of mystery?
The fates of Matt, Tomoko, and the whole resistance may be tied to the true identity of . . .
THE ALIEN SWORDMASTER
SPOILER FREAKING ALERT, TITLE.
THE SWORDMASTER JUST MIGHT BE A VISITOR.
MAYBE.
ONLY THOSE WHO DARE TO READ THESE SENTENCES WILL EVER KNOW FOR SURE.
