Barbarians!
Only read the Milla Vane story; Milla Vane is Meljean Brook. I tried the Singh, but that mate for life garbage without larger mythology sets me off. I put up with it in her novels (so far) because all the political stuff in the background interests me.
Anyway, barbarians! I find the Conan stories so mired in misogynist and racist bullshit that I can't enjoy all the head cracking. The story here addressed this in a really sidelong and sly way, and I hope she expands this universe.
